In a significant stride towards revolutionising Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector, NSBM Green University and the Agriculture Sector Skills Council inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, 01st November 2023. The primary objective of this collaboration is to formalise a partnership aimed at the establishment of an innovative agricultural machinery training and research hub within the country. 

Under the terms of this MoU, NSBM Green University’s Faculty of Engineering will play a pivotal role by contributing its technological expertise to the development of high-tech agricultural equipment, including the use of drones in agriculture.  

The MoU was signed between the Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. Chamindha Rathnayake and the Chairman of Agriculture Sector Skills Council, Mr. Kavinda Dissanayake. The occasion was witnessed by Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Bharatha Dodankotuwa, Dean – Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Chandana Perera, Head – Department of Electrical, Electronics & Systems Engineering, Ms Kaumadee Samarakoon, Head – Department of Bio-Medical Science, Dr. Damayanthi Dahanayake representing NSBM Green University while Agriculture Sector Skills Council was represented by Manager – Administration, Mr. Shenal Jayasinghe, Chief Instructor, Mr. Rasika Kahandagamage and Course Coordinator, Wasantha Wijekoon.
