NSBM Green University successfully conducted a professional development session on “Identification of Predatory Journals, Fake Conferences, and Vanity Press Publishers” on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the Green Boardroom (GBR). The session was organised as part of the University’s ongoing commitment to enhancing research quality, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly practices among its academic community.

The session was facilitated by Prof. L. P. Jayathissa, who provided valuable insights into identifying and avoiding unethical publishing practices that can negatively impact researchers and the credibility of academic work. The session provided academic staff members with greater awareness of best practices in scholarly publishing, enabling them to make informed decisions when selecting publication avenues and disseminating research outcomes.
