As part of their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting sustainable community development, students of CREST Group P of the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance (Plymouth University) programme at NSBM Green University successfully conducted RISE & BUILD, an entrepreneurship development workshop for SME entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners from the Homagama–Pitipana area.

Held at the Green Boardroom of NSBM Green University, the workshop focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge and strategies for business growth, branding, marketing, business planning, and sustainable entrepreneurship. The initiative was designed to help existing entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses while inspiring aspiring entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into successful ventures.

The workshop brought together more than 25 entrepreneurs, creating an engaging platform for learning, networking, exchanging experiences, and exploring new opportunities for business development. Participants benefited from interactive discussions and practical insights that encouraged them to take meaningful steps towards achieving sustainable business success.

The session was conducted by Mr. Suranjith Swaris, Consultant and Director of Sales at Creative Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, Past President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), and an experienced academic. Drawing on his extensive industry and academic expertise, he shared valuable perspectives on entrepreneurship, strategic marketing, and business growth.
