NeuroX 1.0 – Sri Lanka's Premier Buildathon Concludes Successfully at NSBM Green University

NSBM Green University successfully concluded the inaugural edition of NeuroX 1.0 – Sri Lanka’s Premier Buildathon on 31 July 2026, bringing together the nation’s most promising undergraduate innovators for an inspiring showcase of technology, creativity, and problem-solving.
Organised by the Hackathon Hub of the Faculty of Computing, the national-level competition attracted over 300 participants, with more than 80 teams representing over 20 universities across Sri Lanka. Following a rigorous evaluation process, the Top 15 Elite Builder Teams advanced to the Grand Finale, where they presented cutting-edge solutions before an esteemed panel of industry experts and academic professionals.
Demonstrating exceptional technical expertise and innovation, Team Alt + F4 emerged as the Champions of NeuroX 1.0, while Team Power secured the First Runner-Up position and Team Binary Blitz claimed the Second Runner-Up title.
The finalists were evaluated by a distinguished panel comprising the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of CueGrowth, the Co-Founder of AlgoArts, together with senior lecturers from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and NSBM Green University, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of technical excellence, creativity, and real-world applicability.
The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Dr. Thilini De Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Mr. Naji Saravanapavan, Deputy Dean and Head of the Department of Computer Security and Software Engineering, Mr. Anton Jayakody, Master In Charge of Hackathon Hub, alongside members of the academic staff, who commended the participants for their ingenuity and commitment to innovation.
As the inaugural edition of Sri Lanka’s Premier Buildathon, NeuroX 1.0 successfully established a dynamic national platform for undergraduate innovation, collaboration, and technological excellence. The event reflects NSBM Green University’s continued commitment to nurturing future-ready talent, promoting research-driven innovation, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration to shape the next generation of technology leaders.
