Workshop on “AI for Research” Successfully Conducted

The Faculty of Postgraduate and Professional Advancement successfully conducted a workshop on “AI for Research” on 13 September 2026, providing participants with valuable insights into the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in contemporary research.
The workshop featured Prof. Chaminda Wejesinghe as the resource person, whose valuable contribution enriched the session with insights into the applications and potential of AI in research.
The programme explored how AI can be effectively utilised to enhance research practices, efficiency and innovation, while highlighting its growing relevance in an evolving research landscape. Participants were introduced to the ways in which emerging AI capabilities can support researchers in strengthening and advancing their research processes.
The workshop served as a valuable initiative by the Faculty of Postgraduate and Professional Advancement to strengthen the research capabilities and digital competencies of postgraduate and professional learners, equipping them to navigate the opportunities presented by the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence.
