NSBM Team 2023 upheld their excellent spirit and became the Champions of The Vice Chancellor’s Challenge Trophy – Annual Rugby Encounter between NSBM Team 2023 and NSBM Alumni Rugby.  

The thrilling showdown was successfully concluded on the 14th of July 2023 and was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, and the Master In-charge of Rugby, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Student Affairs, Mr. Thisal Yatawara, MIC Rugby, Ms. Shehani Joseph, academics and non-academic staff members and all students of NSBM.  

The match was an epic clash amount the giants filled with passion, skill, determination, and morals. The encounter was officiated by the Sri Lankan Society of Rugby Football.
