The NSBM Women’s Badminton Team delivered an outstanding performance to emerge as the Women’s Champions at the Leaders’ Trophy Badminton Championship 2026, organized by General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU).

Demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament, the team secured the championship title, adding another remarkable achievement to NSBM Green University’s sporting excellence.

The championship-winning team was proudly led by Captain Senaya Ratnayake and Vice-Captain Sethumdi Daluwatta, whose leadership, commitment, and dedication played a significant role in guiding the team to victory.

The team presented the victory trophy to Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, acknowledging the University’s Top Management for their continuous encouragement, unwavering support, and commitment to fostering sporting excellence among students.
