NSBM Tourism Students Gain Expert Insights into “The Future of Hospitality”
The Department of Marketing and Tourism Management of our Faculty of Business successfully conducted a guest session on “The Future of Hospitality” for Tourism Management undergraduates on 11 June 2026.
The session was delivered by Dr. Nishan Silva, Regional General Manager – Dubai & Emirates North, UAE, of the Accor Hotel Chain, who shared valuable insights into the future direction of the global hospitality industry. The discussion focused on emerging trends, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, evolving employer expectations towards 2030, and the key competencies required for graduates to succeed in a rapidly changing industry.
Drawing from his extensive international experience and leadership journey within the global hospitality sector, Dr. Silva highlighted the importance of innovation, adaptability, and customer-centric service excellence in shaping successful careers in tourism and hospitality.
The Department extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Nishan Silva for his valuable contribution, which provided students with meaningful exposure to global industry perspectives and strengthened the link between academic learning and contemporary hospitality practice.
The session was graced by Dr. Thilini de Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, and Mr. Venura Colombage, Deputy Dean and Head of the Department of Marketing and Tourism Management, along with the academic staff of the Tourism cohort.
