A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to forge a new partnership between NSBM Green University and Finetech Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd (the Google partner in Sri Lanka) was signed today, 21^st June 2023 at the NSBM Green University premises. In line with NSBM’s quest to facilitate industry-relevant education, this collaboration significantly intends to establish initiatives to equip NSBM students with the professional qualifications to thrive in the professional world.  

The MoU was signed between Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and Mr. Clehan Pulle  – Director/CEO of Finetech Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd, in the presence of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa – Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean – Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement, Mr. Lasitha De Silva, Head – Department of Professional Advancement and Ms. Chalani Oruthotaarachchi, Senior Lecturer – Department of Information Systems Sciences, Faculty of Computing as the representatives of NSBM, while Finetech Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd was represented by Ms. Shalinki Hettiarachchi – Vice President: Business Services and Mr. Devinda Pieris –  Account Manager. 

Resulting of this new collaboration, the Department of Professional Advancement of NSBM has launched three Professional Certification programs conducted by Google Certified Trainers from Google Inc. These programmes are exclusively designed for NSBM students to have a competitive edge in the job market and open doors to a world of better career opportunities. During the MOU signing, further discussions were conducted regarding the possibility of extending the partnership to provide internship opportunities for NSBM students.
