With the holy month of Ramadan drawn upon, the Islamic Society of NSBM Green University hosted the annual Iftar on 27th March 2024 at the NSBM Student Centre. This event served as a unique opportunity for people of any faith to immerse themselves in Islamic culture and partake in the sacred tradition of breaking the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ifthar’ 24 saw the participation of a diverse crowd of distinguished guests, NSBM staff, and enthusiastic students. Distinguished guests included Moulavi Ash Sheikh Farook (Madani) and the Senior Parliamentarian & Attorney-at-law, Hon. Rauf Hakeem, who added depth and significance to the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe; Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake; Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa; Deans of the faculties, Heads of the departments and many other academics and non-academics along with students participated in this unforgettable evening of unity, harmony, and celebration.

The annual Iftar of NSBM is one of the cultural events organised on-campus to offer a vibrant platform for the university community to delve into the rich tapestry of each other’s cultures and customs, fostering a spirit of inclusivity, understanding, and harmony.
