The first-year undergraduate students of the Bachelor of Interior Design programme from our Department of Design Studies recently visited the Wax Museum, Colombo, as part of their experiential learning journey.

The visit provided students with the opportunity to experience a real exhibition environment and observe how interior design elements such as spatial planning, lighting, materials, colour palettes, and display arrangements work together to shape visitor experience and enhance storytelling within a space.

By exploring these design principles in a real-world setting, students were able to connect classroom knowledge with practical application, strengthening their understanding of exhibition design and user experience while developing their observational and analytical skills.
