The Hackathon Hub of NSBM, under the Faculty of Computing, successfully conducted the Top Board Badging Ceremony for the 2026/2027 tenure, marking an important leadership transition while recognizing the contributions of the outgoing committee.

The ceremony was held on 11th March 2026 at the Green Boardroom of the Faculty of Business under the guidance of Mr. Anton Jayakody, Master-in-Charge of the Hackathon Hub. The event was graced by Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, together with Mr. Saravanapavan Nasiketha, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Mr. Madusanka Mithrananda, Faculty Lecturer, Ms. Gayathmi Kariyapperuma, Department Secretary, and members of the academic staff.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp, followed by opening remarks by Mr. Anton Jayakody, highlighting the continued growth of the Hackathon Hub and its role in fostering innovation and collaboration among students.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Rasika Ranaweera emphasized the importance of student-led initiatives and encouraged the newly appointed board to continue building a strong culture of innovation, teamwork, and technological advancement.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the official badging of the newly appointed Top Board for the 2026/2027 tenure, symbolizing the formal induction of the new leadership. Appreciation certificates and tokens of gratitude were also presented to the outgoing committee in recognition of their contributions.

The ceremony concluded with remarks by the newly appointed President, outlining the vision and future plans for the Hackathon Hub as it continues to empower students through hackathons, technical learning, and innovation-driven collaboration.
