PharmaXplore ’26 was successfully held on 9 October 2026, organised by the Pharmaceutical Science students of the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, NSBM Green University, with the support of the Young Scientists’ Circle (YSC), the department’s student circle.

The formal session, held at the NSBM Auditorium, was attended by Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwavila, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Madhavi Hewadhikaram, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies and Professional Advancement and Head of the Department of Health Sciences; Dr. Miruna Rabindrakumar, Head of the Department of Life Sciences; Senior Professor Pathmalal Manage; Professor L. P. Jayatissa; academic staff; and representatives from participating pharmaceutical companies.

The Industry Spotlight featured presentations by Mr. Naveen Ilapperuma of Hemas Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Thameera Maduranga of Synergy Pharmaceuticals Corporation, Mr. Ajith Munasinghe of Gamma InterPharm, and Ms. U. N. Senanayake of Bioloom Islands, offering students valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry.

The exhibition and inter-school quiz competition, held at the NSBM Student Centre, featured interactive student displays and industry stalls representing Hemas Pharmaceuticals, Morrison, Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Ayush Labs, and Bioloom Islands.

Six schools competed in the quiz competition, with Ananda College emerging as champions and St. Nicholas International College securing the runner-up position.

PharmaXplore ’26 provided a platform for students to explore the pharmaceutical industry, engage with industry professionals and demonstrate their knowledge.
