The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish collaboration between NSBM and Hilton was held on 24th August 2022 at the NSBM Green University premises.
In essence, through this mutually beneficial collaboration both institutions envisage a fruitful venture in future, specifically to increase the possibilities of undergraduate industrial training in various departments, gather information for research and development and also for Hilton employees to follow postgraduate programmes at NSBM. NSBM thereby entered into partnerships with four hotel properties under Hilton Hotels and Resorts: Hilton Colombo, Hilton Colombo Residencies, Hilton Yala Resort and Double Tree by Hilton Weerawila.

The MoU was signed between Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and Mr. Manesh Fernando, Area General Manager for Hilton in Sri Lanka, in the presence of a bilateral delegation comprising Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Ms. Thilini de Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies & Professional Advancement, Mr Lasitha De Silva, Lecturer/ Head of Professional Advancement, Mr Venura Colombage, Head / Senior Lecturer of the Department of Marketing and Tourism and the fellow academics of the Department, Mr. Rushdi Hadhi, Manager – NFORCE as the representatives of NSBM, while Hilton Hotels and Resorts was represented by Mr. Karim Schadlou, General Manager of Hilton Colombo Residences, Ms. Gitanjali Chakravarthy, General Manager of Hilton Yala Resort, Mr. Krishantha Damunupola, General Manager of DoubleTree by Hilton, Mr. Sanchitha Uduwavidana, Director HR of Hilton Colombo, Ms. Venya Jayasekera, Director HR of Hilton Colombo Residencies, Ms. Collette Medagodage, Cluster Director HR of Hilton Yala Resort and Double Tree by Hilton, and several other officials.
