NSBM Green University Conducts CILT Sri Lanka Membership Drive to Strengthen Industry Engagement
The Department of Operations and Logistics, Faculty of Business, NSBM Green University, in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka, successfully conducted the CILT Sri Lanka Membership Drive on 6 October 2026. The initiative provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect with a recognised professional body and explore pathways for professional development and industry engagement in the logistics and transport sector.
The session highlighted the benefits of CILT membership, including professional recognition, networking opportunities, and continuous professional development. Students were also introduced to the initiatives of CILT Sri Lanka Next Generation and Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT), which support emerging professionals, promote leadership, and encourage greater participation in the industry. In addition, participants received guidance on the membership registration process and had the opportunity to obtain CILT student membership during the event.
The event was graced by distinguished representatives of CILT Sri Lanka, including Mr. Givantha Ariyaratne, Vice President – Memberships; Dr. Nalaka Jayantha, Chairperson – Next Gen; Ms. Enoka Weerasooriya, Executive Manager; Ms. Charitha Athukorala, WiLAT Representative; Ms. Nilufa Nizam, WiLAT Representative and Council Member; and Ms. Ishara Pihanage, Executive – Accounts.
The event was further supported by the presence of Ms. Anne Pathiranage, Dean – Faculty of Business; Mr. Shaja Musthaffa, Head – Department of Operations and Logistics; and Ms. Janani Dewmini, Lecturer, Department of Operations and Logistics.
This initiative reflects NSBM Green University’s continued commitment to strengthening industry–academia collaboration, expanding professional networking opportunities, and equipping students with the knowledge and connections needed to pursue successful careers in logistics and supply chain management.
