NSBM Green University and HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. inked MoU for collaborative endeavours


NSBM Green University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. on 15th October 2021 to collaborate in facilitating NSBM students and developing the next generation of cooperate community in technology and innovation.

The partnership with HCL is one of the latest initiatives of the NSBM Industry Partnership Programme, which is designed to optimize synergies among the industry partners and NSBM in regard to entry-level talent acquisition (Internship / Training), employer brand building, knowledge sharing, corporate brand building, special projects, incubation/entrepreneurship development and talent acquisition of fresh graduates. Therefore, this serves as a bridge to the cooperate world and would help to horn, inculcate and develop the best qualities and capabilities of NSBM undergraduates in becoming tomorrow’s professionals to sustain the cooperate environment and its challenges.

HCL is inter alia engaged in the business of developing, providing, importing, exporting, and distributing systems and application software whilst providing software-led IT solutions, including but not limited to remote infrastructure management services and cloud computing through its numerous delivery centres in Colombo and offshore. Currently, nearly 120 NSBM graduates and undergraduates are employed at this leading global technology company, and as specially mentioned by its Associate Vice President and Deputy Manager – HR NSBM students at HCL “are performing very well, and the management is impressed with students’ attitude and skills”.

The MOU was signed between Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and Mr. V. Thothathri, Associate Vice President of HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, and witnessed by Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Ms. Thilini de Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Mr. Kapila Liyanage, Senior Manager – Administration, and Ms. Pavithra Subhashini, Senior Lecturer of Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Faculty of Computing of NSBM Green University and Ms. Nadira Cassim, Deputy Manager – HR of HCL Technologies Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
