Representing the Faculty of Science, Senior Professor Pathmalal Manage and Dr. Madhavi Hewadikaram visited the Gold Coast and Lismore campuses of Southern Cross University (SCU), Australia, as part of ongoing efforts to explore international best practices, emerging technologies and new opportunities for enhancing science education at NSBM Green University.

During the visit, the delegates toured several specialised facilities at SCU, including the Environmental Analysis Laboratory (EAL), Analytical Research Laboratory (ARL), Medicinal Plant Herbarium, science laboratories, and Nursing Clinical and Simulation Laboratories.

The visit provided valuable insights into advanced analytical technologies, environmental testing and analysis, medicinal plant research, laboratory quality systems, as well as simulation-based approaches to health sciences education. The delegates also had the opportunity to observe modern laboratory practices and technologies that support practical learning, research and industry-relevant education.

The visit marks another step in NSBM Faculty of Science’s efforts to identify and learn from international best practices while exploring opportunities to introduce modern technologies, industry-relevant laboratory approaches and enhanced practical learning experiences into future programmes.

Through such international academic engagements, NSBM Green University continues to explore new avenues for strengthening its academic offerings and creating future-ready learning environments for students in the Faculty of Science.
