Day 3 of NSBM Convocation Week 2023 celebrated the triumphs of graduates of the NSBM 2023 Class who completed University of Plymouth degrees attached to Faculty of Business.  

The ceremonial conferment of degrees to University of Plymouth qualified graduates of BSc (Hons) International Management and Business, BSc (Hons) Operations and Logistics Management, BSc (Hons) Marketing Management degrees, BSc (Hons) Business Communication, BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance, and BSc (Hons) Events, Tourism, and Hospitality Management were recognised at Session 7, 8 and 9 of NSBM Convocation Week 2023. 

The degrees were bestowed upon these promising business leaders by the distinguished Vice Chancellor of NSBM, Prof E A Weerasinghe, in the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest for the day, Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Plymouth, Prof. Dafydd Moore. 

Adding to the significance of the event, the session was graced by the presence of Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic and Quality Assurance Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the faculties along with the academics and staff of NSBM Green University and University of Plymouth, Parents of graduates, and well-wishers. 

The recipients of notable awards during the sessions included T. A. Senelie Thanya Gunaratne, who received the Partnership Prize, Gold Medal for Overall Best Performance in the Faculty of Business, and the Prize for the Best Performance in Events, Tourism, and Hospitality Management. 

Further accolades were presented to exceptional students for their outstanding performances in their respective degrees.  

  • Mr Pathum Tharaka Samarasinghe was honoured with the award for Best Performance in the International Management and Business degree. 
  • Ms D. M. Chanma Vishwani Dissanayake was honoured with the “Prize for Best Performance in Marketing Management,”  
  • Ms Dulshika Imal Abeydeera claimed the “Prize for the Best Performance in Operations and Logistics Management.” 
  • Ms. Erandi Chandima Kumarasingha Wanniarachchige received the “Prize for the Best Performance in Accounting and Finance,”  
  • Ms. Malporuge Kavini Thilaksha Senerath Perera was honored with the “Prize for the Best Performance in Business Communication.”
