NSBM Biomedical Science Undergraduates Visit Forte Diagnostics
A group of our third-year Biomedical Science undergraduates visited Forte Diagnostics (Pvt) Ltd., Borella, on 1 October 2026, BMS Students Gain Practical Exposure to Diagnostic Laboratory Operations at Forte Diagnostics as part of their academic learning experience.Â

The educational visit was organised in two sessions, with a total of 56 students divided into two groups attending the laboratory during the morning and afternoon sessions. They were accompanied by the Lecturers of our Faculty of Science, Ms. Kushani Perera and Ms. Nivedha Uthayarajan.

Forte Diagnostics, an ISO-certified medical laboratory headquartered in Borella, provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services, encompassing routine laboratory investigations as well as advanced diagnostic techniques.Â

During the visit, students were introduced to laboratory diagnostics and laboratory operations, followed by a guided tour of the diagnostic facilities. They also had the opportunity to observe demonstrations of advanced laboratory instruments and automated systems, while gaining insights into laboratory workflow, quality assurance practices, and diagnostic procedures.

A key highlight of the visit was the opportunity for students to observe the operations of the Haematology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, and Serology & Immunology laboratories. Students were also able to engage in an interactive session with laboratory professionals, providing valuable insights into professional practices and the role of diagnostic laboratories in healthcare.
