The Industrial Management Circle (IMC) of our Department of Operations and Logistics at the Faculty of Business successfully organized an industrial field visit to TRISCHEL FABRIC (PVT) LTD at MAS Fabric Park, Thulhiriya for undergraduate students.

 

The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the manufacturing operations of one of Sri Lanka’s leading capital-intensive industries. Participants observed various stages of the fabric manufacturing process, including production planning, operational workflows, quality management practices, technological applications, and supply chain activities. This practical experience enabled students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices while gaining deeper insights into modern manufacturing environments.

 

The students were accompanied by Lecturers of the Department of Operations and Logistics, Ms. Janani Dewmini and Ms. Sithumini Jayasekara, who guided and supported the students throughout the visit.

 

This industry engagement served as an enriching learning experience, enhancing students’ understanding of manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, and industry best practices while preparing them for future careers in operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
