The inauguration ceremony of NSBM U-Sports 2022, the Inter-university sports fiesta was held on 20th September 2022, at NSBM grounds. The ceremony was organized by NSBM Green University to mark the International Day of University Sport which is officially proclaimed by UNESCO.

This remarkable occasion was graced by the presence of Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Chaminda Rathnayake, Head – Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof.Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean – Faculty of Science, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwawila, Head – Student Affairs, Mr.Kasun Dissanayake. Athletes from different universities / higher education institutions also participated in this ceremony.

NSBM U-Sports is an annual event of NSBM that intends to create links between Sri Lankan universities focused on promoting sportive spirit among undergraduates. The event for 2022 will be continued over the next few weeks until 06th October 2022, and a series of sports events are planned throughout to showcase the spirit of Sri Lankan university sports stars representing many universities around the island. Day 01 of the sports fiesta is dedicated to the Netball championship.
