The Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with NFORCE and the NFORCE Club, successfully conducted EStep 2026, an Industrial Training Preparation Programme designed for Engineering students of the 23.1/23.2 batches, on 7 September 2026.

The programme was organised to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and professional readiness required to successfully transition from the academic environment to the workplace as they prepare to commence their industrial training.

The session featured insightful discussions on internship success, CV preparation, interview skills and professional expectations, providing students with practical guidance and valuable industry perspectives. These sessions enabled students to better understand workplace expectations and prepare themselves to make the most of their upcoming industrial training experience.

The programme was facilitated by IPD Colombo (Pvt) Ltd and led by Eng. Arjuna Jayadarshana, Training Business Manager, who shared valuable insights into industry expectations and professional development. The session also featured the expertise of Eng. Kaumadee Samarakoon, Industrial Training Coordinator – Faculty of Engineering, who provided students with guidance relevant to their industrial training journey.

The successful coordination of the programme was supported by Ms. Sherien Abeygoonesekera, Career Guidance Officer – NFORCE, and Eng. Kaumadee Samarakoon, Industrial Training Coordinator – Faculty of Engineering, whose efforts contributed to creating a meaningful preparation experience for the students.

Through initiatives such as EStep 2026, NSBM continues to strengthen the connection between academic learning and industry exposure, ensuring that students are equipped with the professional competencies, confidence and practical understanding required to navigate the world of work.
