NSBM Faculty of Business hosted an enriching entrepreneurship experience-sharing session on January 30, 2024 at the NSBM Auditorium. The session titled “My Journey as an Entrepreneur” featured the remarkable entrepreneurial journey of a distinguished and successful self-made entrepreneur in Sri Lanka Mr Dudley Sirisena, the Chairman of the Araliya Group of Companies.

In this insightful session, Mr Sirisena generously shared his extensive knowledge and real-life experiences, shedding light on the triumphs, challenges, and strategies that defined his entrepreneurial journey. Emphasising the skills he developed over time, he provided valuable guidance to the aspiring entrepreneurs in attendance.

The session was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Chandana Perera, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Nuwanthi Katiwawila, heads of the departments and staff.

The session also saw the enthusiastic participation of over 500 NSBM undergraduates as it served as a unique platform for them to gain insights into the entrepreneurial world, drawing inspiration from Mr. Sirisena’s incredible experiences.

Following the engaging session, Mr. Sirisena took part in a comprehensive tour of the university premises, exploring the existing facilities and observing the progress of NSBM Phase II.
