I am Senali Dasanya, a First Class Honours graduate of the BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science degree from NSBM Green University, graduating in 2025 with an outstanding GPA of 3.98. I was honoured to receive the Bank of Ceylon Gold Award for Overall Best Performance across all four faculties at the NSBM Green University General Convocation 2025. As a member of the inaugural graduating batch of the Faculty of Science, I take great pride in being part of its foundation and continued growth. My studies in the Department of Life Sciences provided me with a strong balance of theoretical knowledge, practical laboratory experience, and a research-driven environment that sparked my interest in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and computational approaches to biomedical research. I am deeply grateful to the dedicated lecturers and academic staff whose guidance and mentorship shaped my academic journey.I currently serve as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science, NSBM Green University. It is a privilege to contribute to the same institution that nurtured my academic development by supporting teaching, laboratory practicals, and the education of future scientists.
My journey at NSBM Green University provided me with a strong academic foundation and valuable practical experience that prepared me for my career in the FMCG industry. Completing my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science with Second Class Upper Division further strengthened my confidence and equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue my career. I’m grateful to the lecturers and the Faculty of Science for their continuous guidance and support throughout my journey.
My journey at NSBM Green University gave me so much more than a First-Class Honours degree in Biomedical Science. The well-structured curriculum built a strong theoretical foundation, while countless opportunities for leadership and teamwork helped me grow as both a professional and a person. This growth extended into research, where the university’s excellent facilities and the continuous guidance of my supervisor allowed me to conduct one of the first studies of its kind in Sri Lanka, gaining hands-on experience in several molecular biology techniques along the way. What I’ll always cherish most is the unwavering dedication and mentorship of the lecture panel at the Faculty of Science, who supported me with open arms every step of the way. As I now begin my journey in academia, I will forever carry their guidance with me. I am grateful to NSBM for making me who I am today.
As the Batch Topper of the University of Plymouth BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science graduating class of 2025, my journey at NSBM has been both inspiring and transformative. The programme equipped me with a strong foundation in biomedical sciences, combining theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory skills, critical thinking, and research experience.
After graduating, I was delighted to begin my professional career as an Instructor at NSBM, where I have the privilege of supporting undergraduate students in their practical learning. I am also excited and hope to serve the university in the future as a Research Assistant, allowing me to further pursue my passion for scientific research and contribute to ongoing academic projects.
The unwavering support and mentorship of the academic staff played a significant role in shaping my confidence, skills, and aspirations. I am proud to continue my journey at the very institution that helped me grow, and I am grateful for the opportunities NSBM has provided.
I am currently working as a Demonstrator in Psychology at KIU University. I graduated in
BSc (Hons) Psychology with Second Class Honors (Upper Division) from NSBM Green University, affiliated with the University of Plymouth, UK. My studies provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theory and practice, which I now apply in supporting students’ learning and academic development. I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I gained during my undergraduate education, which continue to guide my professional journey.
NSBM played a significant role in shaping my academic and professional journey. The guidance and support I received from the lecturers during my academic journey at NSBM helped me grow both personally and professionally. I am Kalani Dharmadasa, a proud graduate from the Faculty of Science, having completed the BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Health degree at NSBM Green University. My journey at NSBM has been truly transformative, providing me with a strong academic foundation while enhancing my practical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities through real-world learning experiences. Beyond academics, the program strengthened my communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, shaping my personal and professional growth. Today, these experiences enable me to confidently adapt to workplace challenges and excel as a Quality Assurance Officer at Asiri Hospital, Kandy.
Pursuing my nursing degree at NSBM under Plymouth University has been a highly valuable academic experience. The program maintains strong academic standards, integrates practical training effectively, and fosters a supportive learning environment. The nursing degree specifically emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and critical thinking, which has significantly enhanced my development in both theoretical knowledge and clinical competence.
My journey at NSBM laid the foundation for my career in nursing. Graduating with a Second-Class Upper Division in the BSc (Hons) Nursing program was a proud milestone, made possible through a strong academic foundation, hands-on clinical experience, and the continuous guidance of dedicated lecturers. The knowledge, practical exposure, and mentorship I received throughout the program continue to guide me as I build my career as a nursing professional.
My name is Shashini Bhagya, and I am a Psychology graduate from NSBM Green University. My time at NSBM provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theories, research methods, counseling, and ethical practice while developing essential skills in critical thinking, communication, empathy, and problem-solving.
Through interactive learning, research, presentations, and field-based experiences, I gained the confidence and practical knowledge needed for professional practice. I also completed internships at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Damrivi Foundation, where I gained hands-on experience in counseling, psychological support, client interaction, and mental health awareness.
I currently work as a Life Mentor at Lyceum International School, supporting students’ emotional, behavioral, and personal development by fostering resilience, confidence, and well-being. Looking back, NSBM and its Psychology program played a vital role in shaping me into a compassionate and confident professional. I am proud to be an NSBM graduate and grateful for the knowledge, guidance, and opportunities that continue to inspire my career.
