Professor Paul is a professor of Credit management and is Chair of Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM). She is known nationally and internationally in the field of credit management and champion knowledge exchange. Her reputation comes from her ability to bridge industrial and academic practice in the field of credit management. She have been described as the “the bridge between industry and academia”. Her success in this domain is reflected by her association with many stakeholders that resulted in policy changes, the provision of funding, consultancy work and participation in governmental round table discussions. Her research interests also include financial management, treasury management, cash management, SMEs’ funding and credit risk mitigation. Her work is read by both academics and professionals alike. She is often invited as a keynote speaker both in the UK and abroad to disseminate her research findings. Her research on the late payment problem attracted media attention and the final product was endorsed by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills. Her work has been used to shape government policy.

Professor Paul is Fellow of the Institute of Credit Management and its Chair, Fellow of the Credit Association, Fellow of the Higher Education academy, member of the European Institute of Purchasing Management, member of the British Association of Finance and Accounting and member of the European Accounting Association.
