Ms. Prabodya Munasingha is a graduate of the Bachelor of Business Management (Honours) in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management with First Class Honours from Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, where she was recognized with the Vice Chancellor’s Award and the Gold Medal awarded by the Bank of Ceylon for being the best-performing student in academic performance. She is currently reading for a Master of Science (MSc) in Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. She is also an Associate Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

She has gained three years of academic and professional experience in the fields of travel, tourism, and higher education before joining NSBM Green University. Her professional experience in the travel and tourism industry provided her with exposure to airline reservation systems and travel operations using Amadeus and Galileo Global Distribution Systems (GDS). She has also served as a Lecturer, engaging in undergraduate teaching, research supervision, curriculum delivery, student mentoring, and academic administration.

Her research interests include sustainable tourism, tourism MSMEs, destination resilience, crisis preparedness, digital transformation, green business strategies, strategic management, and tourism planning and development. Her current postgraduate research focuses on crisis readiness and destination resilience in tourism MSMEs. She has contributed to academic research through conference presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has also actively participated in organizing academic conferences, events and industry engagement programmes. In recognition of her contribution to the tourism sector, she was selected among the Top 100 Beijing Tourism Experts worldwide. She is committed to advancing tourism and hospitality education through high-quality teaching, impactful research, and industry collaboration while contributing to the sustainable development of the tourism sector.
