Profile

Mr. Chamodya Nirmal is a Temporary Lecturer attached to the Faculty of Engineering at NSBM Green University, Sri Lanka. He graduated as the Valedictorian with First Class Honours in BSc Engineering (Hons) in Mechatronic Engineering from NSBM Green University and is currently pursuing an MSc in Control and Instrumentation Engineering at the University of Peradeniya. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision, Robotics, Automation, Intelligent Control Systems, Predictive Maintenance, and Indoor Positioning Technologies. He gained industrial experience through training at Continental AG and ThermalR Industries, where he was involved in projects related to manufacturing technology, automation, and product development. Since joining NSBM Green University, he has been actively engaged in teaching, laboratory instruction, student supervision, and research activities. He has authored and co-authored numerous research publications, including several Scopus-indexed conference and journal papers, covering areas such as AI-driven predictive maintenance, computer vision, renewable energy applications, intelligent sensing systems, and visible light positioning. He continues to contribute to research and innovation through interdisciplinary engineering projects and academic collaborations.
