BEng (Hons) Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering Top-Up Degree

PLYMOUTH UNIVERSITY - UNITED KINGDOM

Duration -

The BEng (Hons) Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering Top-Up Degree offers a direct progression route into the final year of the University of Plymouth degree delivered at NSBM Green University.

The programme is intended for applicants who already hold relevant higher-level engineering qualifications and have industrial experience. Delivered on a part-time basis, it allows working professionals to continue their careers while completing the final stage of an honours degree. The curriculum focuses on advanced areas such as embedded programming, machine learning for robotics, high-speed communication, renewable energy technology, and an individual engineering project.

KEY FEATURES

  • Direct entry to Level 6 / Final Year
  • Part-time study suitable for working engineering professionals
  • Advanced study in embedded systems, robotics, communications and renewable energy
  • Strong practical and project-based learning
  • Access to laboratory facilities and specialist engineering software
  • Completion of a major Individual Project

The programme places strong emphasis on learning through practical work, laboratory activities and engineering projects. It also develops the analytical, design and problem-solving skills required in modern electrical and electronic engineering practice.

Aims of the Top- Up Program

The Top-Up programme aims to provide a clear academic progression pathway for engineering professionals who wish to upgrade their existing qualifications to an honours degree.

It is designed to deepen students’ knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering while strengthening their ability to apply engineering principles, mathematical modelling, analytical methods and modern engineering tools to complex problems. The programme also encourages independent learning, professional development, creativity and effective engineering decision-making.

Through advanced technical modules and the individual project, students are expected to develop knowledge and skills relevant to areas such as embedded systems, robotics, communication engineering and renewable energy technologies.
