Central Environmental Authority (CEA) has selected NSBM Green University as the venue for the inaugural event in recognition of NSBM’s proven track record and commitment towards environment preservation and green initiatives.
Natural flora has been optimally used across NSBM to beautify and enhance the overall environment. Over 430 large trees have been already planted within the University premises, eventually giving a natural canopy with a number of environmental benefits, and this ‘Husma Dena Thuru’ program adds another 140 plants to the landscape of Phase 2 of NSBM.
The programme has been organized by the Ministry of Environment and CEA together with Access Engineering. Mr. Ajith Weerasundara, Deputy Director General (Environmental Education and Awareness) of CEA, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head – Academic Development & Quality Assurance of NSBM, representatives from the ministry and Access Engineering, officers of the Green Trask Force of NSBM were presented at the event.
