In commemorating the victorious journey of 5 years, NSBM Green University marked its 5th anniversary with a simple yet prestigious ceremony while adhering to the existing health guidelines of the country. This ceremonious commemoration was held today (26th October 2021) at NSBM Green University premises in Pitipana, Homagama, under the patronage of distinguished guests and the NSBM community. As part of this celebration, a lineup of commemoratory events and activities are planned to be held.
The anniversary celebration of NSBM Green University commenced with the graceful arrival of the chief guest, Dr. Seetha Arambepola, Hon. State Minister of Skills Development, Vocational Education, Research and Innovation and the other distinguished guests, including Mrs. Deepa Liyanage, the Secretary to the State Ministry at the university premises. Hon. Minister and the other guests were welcomed by Prof. E A Weerasinghe, the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and brought to the Phase-II construction site of NSBM Green University with a briefing on its ongoing developments and full-site development plan. Then, as the state minister unveiled the opening plaque, the newly built playground was officially declared open and dedicated to the NSBM student community. This new playground is a signature construction activity under NSBM Green University–Phase II, the ongoing construction project in another 15 acres of land adjoining the existing university premises.
Moreover, a tree planting activity was initiated under the patronage of the chief guest, Hon. Minister Dr. Seetha Arambepola, as a commemoratory activity in keeping with the green concept of the NSBM Green University.
