Ms. Pabasara Athukorala is a graduate from the University of Peradeniya, with a first class in B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics. She has an overall GPA of 3.90 and a subject GPA of 3.96 out of 4.0, received the University award for academic excellence (2019), and was selected for the Dean’s list for the best academic performance (2018, & 2019). Currently, she is reading for her Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand through a fully funded scholarship and her research is based on Cryptographic applications in Algebraic Number Theory and Group Theory. Furthermore, she has completed certificate courses in Cryptography from the University of Maryland and University of California, and a certificate course in Mathematics for Machine learning from the Imperial College London. She is also a member of the New Zealand Mathematical Society.

Upon completion of her B.Sc degree, Pabasara commenced her academic career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Peradeniya. She has assisted in delivering advanced Mathematics courses such as Measure Theory, Real and Complex Analysis, and Number Theory. At present, she is employed as a Temporary Lecturer attached to the Department of Data Science at Faculty of Computing in NSBM Green University. Her research interests are in the field of Number Theory, Public-key Cryptography and Mathematical Cryptography, and willing to take part in any ongoing research.
