Ms. Ishani Karunaratne

Ms. Ishani Karunaratne is a graduate in Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture awarded by Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.  She was the receiver of Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Limkokwing Award for Academic Excellence and Scholarship as well as the award for the Best Performance in Interior Architecture with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) by National School of Business Management.

Her interested subject areas of research are Creative Education, Colour Psychology, Built Environment and Human Behaviour, based on which she completed her undergraduate thesis in 2015; “Study on psychological impact of colours on the academic performance with special reference to primary schools in Colombo, Sri Lanka”.

She’s currently in the process of completing her post graduate studies in Colour Consultancy (UK). Prior to joining NSBM, she has worked under a prominent architect in Sri Lanka specialized in Hotel and Office Interiors, gaining a practical and competent knowledge and experience as an Interior Architect.

She joined NSBM, as a teaching assistant to BA in Interior Design degree programme in 2016 and lectures on Architectural History, Building Construction Materials, Environmental Psychology and Design Fundamentals.
