Prof.. Sanath J Wickramasinghe holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the University of Moratuwa, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Colombo, a Professional Graduate Diploma in the field of Computer Science which is an internationally recognized Honors Degree in the United Kingdom, 3 National Diplomas in the field of Computer Science and Management. He has also successfully participated in several certificate courses in the United States of America and in Sri Lanka.  

Mr.Wickramasinghe commenced his career as a trainee computer programmer and has excelled as a Programmer, Systems Analyst and Designer, Project Manager and a Director in the field of Information Technology. He is currently pursuing his passion for teaching as a Senior Lecturer and Consultant in the fields of IT and Human Resource Management.  

He served as the first Director of IT / Chief Innovative Officer in the rank of Brigadier of the Sri Lanka Army.  He has initiated and implemented more than 15 major IT projects in the SL Army during demanding circumstances at the time of war.

During his career, he has performed duties as the Deputy Director (Operations) for more than 8 years under the supervision of very senior government officials at the Peace Secretariat, established under the Presidential Secretariat. In addition to that, he has discharged duties as an IT Consultant to projects affiliated to the Ministry of Defence. Immediately prior to his retirement he was appointed as the Director IT and a Senior Lecturer at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.

After his retirement he was recruited as the Head of the NIBM for Galle and Matara branches and he is currently working as a Senior Lecturer at the NSBM Green University Town.

Being an IT and HRM professional he has participated in many national and international seminars and conferences in the respective fields in the last 32 years period. During the last 16 years, he had taught many subjects relating to IT and HRM fields to more than 12,000 undergraduates and postgraduates in several universities.
