The 6-day “Skills Upgrading Program on Creative Design” organized by NSBM Faculty of Computing culminated with a grand closing ceremony, held on 10 November 2019, with the presence and guidance of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head – Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Dr Rasika Ranaweera, Dean – Faculty of Computing, and Ms.Manoja Weerasekara – Academic Head- Faculty of Computing. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development.
Following a constructive evaluation session, the participants were awarded well-deserved certificates of participation.
The creative design skills upgrading program was a multi-disciplinary course with the aim of providing its participants with a comprehensive education on the design process, within an interactive platform.
This program, via many interactive activities, further extended to enlighten the participants in basic computing mathematics, idea generation and concept developing, Game Design, 3D design & Animation, and UI/UX design for interfaces. This 6-day workshop consisted of lectures as well as practical sessions to provide the maximum educational and vocational experience. The lecture panel was well balanced consisting of in-house academics from the NSBM Faculty of Computing together with experts from the industry, in order to provide students with the accurate theory along with the most functional and current elements of practice.
