Intending to promote circularity practices along with reuse in day-to-day university life, the NSBM Circularity and Sustainability Community opened a thrift shop named “2nd Street” for the first time at NSBM Green University. The opening of the shop happened on the 4th of September 2023 with the graceful presence of the Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean – Faculty of Business, Ms. Thilini De Silva, Dean – Faculty of Science, Dr. Nuwanthi Katuwawila and Mistresses-In-Charge of NSBM Circularity and Sustainability Community, Lecturer Ms. Ashendra Konara and Lecturer Ms. Sharmili Ravindrarajan.The NSBM Circularity and Sustainability Community is the rebranded version of the Green Task Force of NSBM. “2nd Street” thrift shop is NSBM’s latest initiative towards sustainability, which was implemented as per a decision of the top management. The shop is located at FOB ground floor 006 premises and will be open to anyone to contribute with reusable goods and to all the shoppers who are interested in secondhand shopping.
