NSBM Sports Fiesta 2023, the biggest annual sports event organized by NSBM Green University, commenced on the 20th of February and concluded on 16th March, achieving resounding success. The event brought in a dynamic platform to optimize the sportive talents of NSBM undergraduates as four houses: Ruby Adventurers, Citrine Warriors, Emerald Fighters, and Sapphire Heroes, competed in a series of sports events over four weeks. Citrine Warriors led their way ahead in the competition and secured the trophy as the champions of NSBM Sports Fiesta 2022 whilst Ruby Adventurers and Emerald Fighters were declared as the 1st runners up and 2nd runners up, respectively, in the grand final held at the NSBM Green University grounds.
The grand final of NSBM Sports Fiesta 2023 was glamoured with the presence of Vice-Chancellor of NSBM, Prof. E A Weerasinghe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans, Head of Student Affairs, Mr Kasun Dissanayake, staff members, undergraduates and alumni of NSBM.
This memorable event was graced with the honourable presence of the Chief Guest, Col. Dharshana Ratnayake, Chairman/Director of National Youth Corps, and the participation of the guest of honour, Ms. Gayani Dissanayake, former captain and current player of the National Netball Team enlivened the grand final of NSBM Sports Fiesta 2023 with more colour.
