The Powerlifting team of NSBM Green University has competed in strength-to-strength and bagged many medals at the National Bench Press Championship, which was orgranized by National Powerlifting Federation. During the championship, NSBM Powerlifters; M.P.N Dharmasena secured the gold medal, R.C Jayalath and P. Pavithran won the silver medals, while K.A.D.G.K Madanayaka and L.A.W Sigera won the bronze medals in their weight categories.
The winners were appreciated for their achievement by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, in the presence of Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development & Quality Assurance, Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa. The team was led by Mr. Sanjeewa Kumara, the coach under the guidance of Mr. Pramudya Thilakrathne, the Master-in-Charge of the NSBM powerlifting team.
