Interns of NSBM School of Computing who are working inside the Incubation Center of NSBM Green University for Embla Software Innovation (Pvt) Ltd had another exciting moment as they met their foreign client on 2nd August 2019. These students are engaging in a machine learning project of Embla under stringent quality check and the client made an extra journey from Norway to Sri Lanka to get an insight into how our students are shaping the things in such a fantastic way. The concept of the Incubation Center located at the student Centre of NSBM has provided the School of Computing undergraduates to engage in real-time projects under leading companies within the university.
The visit was coordinated by Senior Lecturer of School of Computing Ms. Pavithra Subhashini who is in charge of Industry-University partnerships of the faculty and was supported by the Career Guidance unit headed by Mr. Kapila Liyanage.
The visiting team comprised of Vidar Blomvik, the Managing Director of the incubator client company, Stein Inge, Chairman, Chandimal Wickramasinghe, Chief Executive Officer, Sharon Kern, Senior Manager HR, and Dumindu Kulasekara, Tech Lead of Embla Software Innovation (Pvt) Ltd.
Visitors team had a meeting with the Management of NSBM Green University Town and discussed the progress and the future of industry collaborations of the University. Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Dr. E A Weerasinghe Deputy Vice-Chancellor Mr. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head Academic and Quality Assurance Mr. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean School of Computing Dr. Rasika Ranaweera, Head of Marketing Mr. Chiranjeewa Atapattu and other Senior Staff participated for the discussions.
Visitors who had a tour around the NSBM and the Incubation Center was fully impressed with facilities and the initiative of the university.
