Faculty of Computing inaugurated the Industry Preparation Training (IPT) 2022


Faculty of Computing inaugurated the Industry Preparation Training (IPT) 2022 on the 8th of February, targeting the computing students who are entering the final year of academic studies.
IPT is an initiative that helps the student for a smooth and easy transition to industrial life after the studies at the University. It is expected to provide firsthand experience on industrial life and knowledge on “how to thrive in the industry” via gaining expertise from experienced IT professionals.
A team of experienced IT professionals, who have extensive working experience in large scale IT firms and have interacted with all tiers of IT specialists such as novices, seniors and managers, have been chosen as trainers of the programme.
Today’s session was addressed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor – Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of Academic Development and Quality Assurance – Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Dean of Faculty of Computing – Dr Rasika Ranaweera, Head of Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering – Ms Pavithra Subashini and IPT coordinator – Mr Gayan Perera.
Moreover, the Computing students had the privilege of having an interactive session with Mr Dinesh Krishantha – Senior Architect, who also delivered a motivational speech to the undergraduates.
During the evening session, students were able to get industry expectations and guidance on CV writing from Virtusa Pvt ltd.
