eMINDS 2024, the first-ever IT exhibition organized by the first-year undergraduates of NSBM Faculty of Computing, was held in parallel with NSBM Tech Thursday on 22nd February 2024.
The exhibition saw the graceful presence of the Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, who visited multiple stalls and witnessed students’ talents along with the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, deans of the other faculties, heads, academic and administrative staff of NSBM.
This exhibition was organized under the guidance of Mr. Naji Saravanapavan, Head of the Department of Computer and Data Science.
The exhibits at eMINDS 2024 were based on the top-trending technologies that hold extensive disruptive potential for the century. The main objective of the exhibition directly aligned with the students’ commitment to keeping our community well-informed and prepared for the changing technological landscape of the future.
In conjunction with the eMINDS, a school student awareness seminar was organized to raise awareness among school students on IT field. The seminar saw the enthusiastic participation of 500+ A/L students from different schools.
This enlightening IT seminar featured esteemed speakers from NSBM Green University: Dr. Chaminda Wijesinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Computing, on the topic of “Your Future with IT: Opportunities and Career Prospects”; Mr. Chamara Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer in Networks and Security, on the topic of “Protection in the Mobile Age: Privacy and Data Protection”.
