Expanding the higher education opportunity for Sri Lankan youth, NSBM inaugurated their fourth intake of students who have applied through the governments’ Interest-Free Loan Scheme (IFLS).
NSBM is currently housing more than 9000+ undergraduates and takes two normal intakes of more than 3000 students. The students coming under IFLS is a separate intake where NSBM extends its higher education ratio increasing mission keeping up with the government policies. These students will be merged with the above normal batches in upcoming semesters.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Professor Chaminda Rathnayake, Head of the Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Professor Baratha Dodankotuwa, Deans of the faculties, officials from the Ministry of Education and the Bank of Ceylon, participated to this event that was held yesterday (20th August). Parents and students were welcomed and given an insight into the scheme during the inauguration.
