The 6-day "Skills Upgrading Program on Creative Design" organized by NSBM Faculty of Computing culminated with a grand closing ceremony, held on 10 November 2019, with the presence and guidance of Prof. Baratha Dodankotuwa, Head – Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Dr Rasika Ranaweera, Dean – Faculty of Computing, and Ms.Manoja Weerasekara – Academic Head- Faculty of Computing. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development.

Following a constructive evaluation session, the participants were awarded well-deserved certificates of participation.
The creative design skills upgrading program was a multi-disciplinary course with the aim of providing its participants a comprehensive education on the design process, within an interactive platform.

“Digital design is like a painting, except the paint never dries.”

The creative design skills upgrading program is a multi-disciplinary course conducted by NSBM Faculty of Computing, providing the participants with a comprehensive education on the design process, production and finally evaluation. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Resettlement of Protracted Displaced Persons, Co-operative Development and Vocational Training & Skills Development.

This program, via many interactive activities, further extended to enlighten the participants in basic computing mathematics, idea generation and concept developing, Game Design, 3D design & Animation, and UI/UX design for interfaces. This 6-day workshop consisted of lectures as well as practical sessions to provide the maximum educational and vocational experience. The lecture panel was well balanced consisting of in-house academics from the NSBM Faculty of Computing together with experts from the industry, in order to provide students with the accurate theory along with the most functional and current elements of practice

EMERGE 2019 is the Entrepreneurship day organized by the ENTREPRENEURSHIP CIRCLE of Faculty of Business on 8th November 2019 held at NSBM Green University auditorium. The occasion was held with the esteemed presence of Prof. E A Weerasinghe Vice-Chancellor of NSBM Green University and Ms. Thilini De Silva Dean Faculty of Business, Ms. Anne Pathiranage Head of Academics Faculty of Business, senior lecturer Professor Ganga Karunathilake, Mistresses in charge of the circle Ms. Bhasuri Amaratunga, Ms. Sashini Gayanika and Ms Jayani Perera and Master in charge Mr. Kasun Dissanayake.
The invited guests who graced the day and motivated the budding entrepreneurs towards a path of success are Dr. Rohita Silva, Chairman of COYLE and owner of IDAC (Pvt) Ltd, Dr. Udaya Indrarathna Senior Advisor - Chairman's Office, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and CEO/ Sector Head - Leisure Sector, Softlogic PLC, Mr. Thilak Dissanayake - engineer, entrepreneur and inventor and Ms. Janaki Katriarachchi - winner of the Woman Entrepreneur Award and founder of Three Star farms and Ranbath Organic Foods (Pvt) Ltd.

This was the first live event conducted by a student circle at NSBM Green University and held the grand finale of the Biztycoon business plan competition where after a month of competitions finalists competed to win the final trophy and the cash prize.

3rd place- Sahas and Kavindri from Faculty if Business
It was an awe-inspiring event organized by the Entrepreneurship Circle where budding entrepreneurs at NSBM Green University showed their talents and skills.
